title pic My Reads For January 2012: Come Share What You’ve Been Reading This Month.

Posted by Jessica on January 30, 2012

I’ve been having a bit of a vampire fest this month, and this leads me to ask about your favourite vampire novels. Are you a Twilight fan, perhaps, or are you more inclined towards the classic Interview with the Vampire? I can’t wait to get your recommendations!

So, onto what I’ve been reading. Most of January has been taken up with working my way through books 4 to 11 of the Morganville Vampires series by Rachel Caine which I was given for Christmas. Feast of Fools Lord of Misrule Carpe Corpus Fade Out Kiss of Death Ghost Town Bite Club and Last Breath

These novels are just so entertaining, rather like True Blood for teenagers, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed myself. Admittedly, books 7 and 8 weren’t quite up to the standard of the others, and I was beginning to think the series might have lost its way. I needn’t have worried, however. The books grew progressively deeper and more involved from then on, and I’m keen to read book 12 when it comes out.

Lastly, I read The Radleys by Matt Haig

I’ve been looking forward to reading this ever since I saw it reviewed on Sky’s Book Show, and I wasn’t disappointed. This is without doubt the quirkiest twist on the vampire genre I’ve come across so far, mainly because, although it is a novel about vampires, it’s far more a story about family, and the question of whether it’s ever possible to deny your true nature. I loved, loved, loved this book!

Well, that’s what I’ve been reading this month. How about you? Have you made any exciting new finds? Or perhaps you picked up a novel with high hopes only to be disappointed. Let’s chat books!
